For God's glory and other people's good

Rooted Covenant.

Rooted isn't a title or a transaction. It describes where I stand: planted here to worship, to serve, to give, and to grow alongside the rest of the body.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Mark 10:45 ESV

Rooted in Christ.

Everything we build together starts with each of us walking closely with Jesus.

I will…

  1. 01

Wholeheartedly affirm the following core beliefs:

    • There is one true and living God eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    • Humanity is created in God's image yet fallen and in need of salvation.
    • The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
    • Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death, rose bodily, ascended to heaven, and is coming again.
    • The local church is the hope of the world under the headship of Jesus, filled with His Spirit, and sent on His mission.
  2. 02

Pursue Jesus daily through prayer and His Word, and pursue personal holiness in thought, word, deed, and relationships.

  3. 03

Gather faithfully with this community for worship and prayer.

  4. 04

Live by our four core values:

    • Biblical Integrity

Knowing and doing what is right according to God's Word, no matter the cost.

    • Courageous Leadership

Willing and able to make hard decisions for the glory of God and the good of His people.

    • Sacrificial Love

Laying down our lives to love God deeply and love people tangibly.

    • Reverence for the House of God

Treating the church, her people, and her mission as holy.

Rooted together.

We carry each other's burdens, protect each other's reputations, and build this community together.

  1. 05

Call Cultivate home: my one church community rather than one stop among several, investing here with loyalty through every season.

  2. 06

Think the best of others at all times, refusing to entertain gossip, slander, or negative assumptions; speaking directly, gently, and quickly when offense occurs.

  3. 07

Resolve conflict biblically and swiftly according to Matthew 18: go first in private, then with one or two others if needed, then to leadership, always with humility, grace, and a desire for restoration.

  4. 08

Never speak evil of another; instead I will bless, cover, and defend others publicly while addressing concerns privately.

  5. 09

Fully support and publicly champion the vision and decisions of pastoral leadership, even when I privately disagree, trusting God's appointed authority and bringing any concerns directly and respectfully to the pastors.

  6. 10

Contribute my time and talents to the life of this community, serving where I'm needed and using the gifts God has given me for the good of others.

  7. 11

Financially support the needs of this community regularly, giving from the first of what God provides rather than what's left over.

I sign this covenant not as a burden but as a joyful commitment to put down roots here, to contribute rather than consume, and to grow alongside the rest of the body for the glory of Jesus and the sake of His bride.
